About
BlackRiver Sacred Adventures Founders
Founder and Guide Shaman Rubee BlackRiver recognized his mystic path 15 years ago while on assignment in Africa as a dignitary protection specialist. After contracting malaria in Ghana, he was healed holistically by a village shaman with herbs, prayers, and drumming. That same shaman later named and initiated Rubee into the shamanic arts. Since being infused with the healing spirit, Rubee began mastering yoga, with Saddhus in India, and has developed a unique healing practice combining several expressive arts integrating his Cherokee and African American heritage. BlackRiver is a NOLS Wilderness First Responder and a student of world-renowned wilderness survival guru Tom Brown, Jr. In recent years, BlackRiver has been weaving these strands together, holistically training clients on how to protect their mind, body, and spirit and leading people on healing journeys and sacred adventures around the world.
Co-Founder Katthe Wolf is an anthropologist, life coach, traveler, collage artist, and yoga teacher as well as an entrepreneurial non-profit executive by profession. She brings both her passion for travel and her business acumen to managing BlackRiver Sacred Adventures.
